Yvgeniy Zhuk is an L.A. based cinematographer who was born and raised in Belarus. He moved to Philadelphia when he was 12 years old. He studied film at Temple University and completed his MFA in Cinematography at the American Film Institute.
Yvgeniy has mainly pursued narrative work. His film, PALIBU-LIBOT (IN CIRCLES), won “Best Short” at the inaugural FilAm Creative Film Festival in 2023. The films he lensed have screened at Outfest, LA Shorts, Beverly Hills Film Festival, San Diego Filipino Film Festival, FilAm Creative Film Festival, Cine Gear, and more. He has also shot music videos for artists like Jaden Smith, 2 Chainz, Ice Nine Kills, and Reel Big Fish. To date, he has completed over 300 productions in various positions including features, music videos, commercials, and web series.
Yvgeniy’s approach to cinematography is to constantly push the boundaries of the medium and challenge himself to think and try things outside the box. Ever curious, he utilizes his vast experience and multicultural sentiments in his work.
